Sarah Doyel is a writer and migration research professional
based in Tunis, Tunisia.

My writing explores the politics of human mobility and solidarity, covering migration, internationalism, human rights, and the interlinkages between policy, culture, and media on these topics. I nurture a personal finance hobby that means I sometimes write about money, too.

By day, I’m a regional project manager at a migration research center, based in Tunis. I’ve previously worked as a researcher, program manager, and caseworker in the migration and anti-trafficking fields in the US, facilitating access to public benefits and social services.

In addition to my work in writing and research, I’m a skilled editor and content strategist with a background in academic editing, political newsletters, and encyclopedic writing. As a graduate student, I edited LSE’s global affairs magazine The London Globalist, where I produced the publication’s first original anthology. My master’s dissertation, Paragon of ‘Self-Reliance’: A Critical Narrative Analysis of Refugee Policies in Uganda, was published in the academic journal New Sociological Perspectives.

I received my MSc in International Migration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where I graduated at the top of my class and won the prize for best overall performance in my program. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College in Los Angeles. I speak English, Spanish, and French.
